Stop & Shop to Acquire Johnnie's Foodmaster Medford, Mass. Lease
(Quincy, MA) Nov. 2, 2012 - The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Johnnie's Foodmaster to acquire the Foodmaster lease in Medford, Mass.
"Stop & Shop has a long history of serving New England customers," said Joe Kelley, president, Stop & Shop New England Division. "We are excited to expand our offering in greater Boston with this new location. Stop & Shop looks forward to serving new customers with our signature value, quality, and commitment to the community."
Upon completion of the sale, Stop & Shop plans to quickly convert the Medford location into a Stop & Shop branded store and re-open before the end of the year.
Stop & Shop has committed to interviewing all Johnnie's Foodmaster employees in this store who wish to apply for a position with Stop & Shop.
The acquisition is currently expected to close prior to the end of the year.
