Stop & Shop Alerts Customers to Recall of General Mills Progresso Hearty Tomato Soup
Nov. 1, 2008, Quincy, MA… Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, following a recall by General Mills, announced it is removing 19 ounce Progresso Hearty Tomato Soup from sale. General Mills has issued a national recall of these products because they may contain allergens not listed on the ingredient label, specifically egg, milk, and soy.
The following products are affected by this recall:
- 19 ounce, Progresso Hearty Tomato Soup
UPC # 4119691068
This voluntary recall includes only 19-ounce Progresso Hearty Tomato soup with the following code date printed on the bottom of the can: 19May10 NV VN-3.
Upon hearing of the announcement by General Mills, Stop & Shop immediately removed the items for sale from its shelves. Stop & Shop has not received any reports of illness or injuries associated with the consumption of these products.

Customers who have purchased the affected products may return them to Stop & Shop for a full refund or call Stop & Shop Customer Service at (800) 767-7772 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for more information.
