In the Community
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company prides itself on being a good neighbor and supporting all the communities in which we operate. Our charitable initiatives, focusing on three major areas: hunger, combating childhood cancer, and children's educational and support programs, have helped thousands of people of every background and lifestyle.
Hunger Relief
Every autumn, since 1989, our associates rally around our Food For Friends program, raising $1 million each year to feed needy families across six states. The Stop & Shop Turkey Express program donates over 16,000 turkeys during the holiday season to food pantries and churches.
Cancer Care and Research
Since 1990, our fight against childhood cancer has raised over $48 million for the Jimmy Fund to support
the Stop & Shop Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Education
In 2003, we established the Stop & Shop Family Foundation to support educational and athletic programs for children. Our Diversity Internship Program places talented minority youth in business and community leadership roles. All are full-time college students who are offered an entry to middle level positions within those companies.
Recycling and Environment
We've put a number of initiatives in place, including our Plastic Bag Recycling Program, Green store pilot program, reusable bags and eco-friendly driving.
Seafood Sustainability
Stop & Shop is a leader in environmentally friendly seafood practices thanks to our long-standing partnership with the New England Aquarium.
