In the Community
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company prides itself on being a good neighbor and supporting all the communities in which we operate. Our charitable initiatives, focusing on three major areas: hunger, combating childhood cancer, and children's educational and support programs, have helped thousands of people of every background and lifestyle.
Hunger Relief
Stop & Shop is committed to the fight against hunger in our communities. In 2012, we donated more than $14 million in cash and product to hunger relief efforts.
Cancer Care and Research
Since 1990, our fight against childhood cancer has raised over $48 million for the Jimmy Fund to support the Stop & Shop Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Education
Our A+ School Rewards program has given cash grants and educational equipment valued at over $5M to local schools since 2009. Our Diversity Internship Program places talented minority youth in business and community leadership roles.
Recycling and Environment
We've put a number of initiatives in place, including our Plastic Bag Recycling Program, Green store pilot program, reusable bags and eco-friendly driving.
Seafood Sustainability
Stop & Shop is a leader in environmentally friendly seafood practices thanks to our long-standing partnership with the New England Aquarium.
