Quincy, MA -- Stop & Shop/Giant Landover are donating $50,000 in response to the devastation caused by earthquakes and tidal waves that impacted dozens of countries in Asia and Africa. The funds will go towards organizations providing shelter, food, and clean water to the survivors. "This tragedy isn't limited to one part of the world; its effects are felt all around the globe," said Marc Smith, President and CEO of Stop & Shop/Giant Landover. "We have a responsibility to reach out and do what we can to help in this time of crisis."

Both Stop & Shop and Giant Landover have become known for their charitable assistance. The two supermarket chains have raised millions of dollars each year fighting hunger, childhood diseases and supporting the communities they serve.
