"New Low Prices Every Day" to Cleaning Supplies
Quincy, MA (March 1, 2007) - On Friday, March 2nd, just as many families are about to
embark on the traditional ritual of spring-cleaning, The Stop & Shop Supermarket
Company will unveil its new, lower pricing in its cleaning supplies aisle, cutting prices
on bleach, laundry detergent, fabric softeners and other cleaning-related
necessities.
These price reductions mark the latest phase of the chain's Value Improvement Program
(VIP), which has received a positive customer response. "We are receiving enthusiastic
comments from shoppers who notice, and appreciate, our lower prices on fruits and
vegetables and paper products. And many fellow moms are grateful for our lower prices on
diapers and other items in our baby aisle because it saves them both time and money,"
said Andrea Astrachan, Stop & Shop's Consumer Advisor. "Now, to provide customers
with even greater value, we've lowered everyday prices on many national brands in our
household cleaner aisle as well."
In addition to lower prices on detergents, bleach and other cleaning supplies, Stop &
Shop is responding to customer requests for environmentally friendly cleaning products by
introducing in many of its stores "Healthy Home," a new department of products that
offers a full range of environmentally-safe cleaning items.
Stop & Shop is spreading the word on its value-priced household cleaning products
through advertisements in television, radio, and the Internet, as well as the chain's

Stop & Shop's Value Improvement Program (VIP) was launched in late 2006 and combines
Stop & Shop's wide range of products and categories with improved freshness in
